Lyrical and Contemporary dance classes are fusion genres of movement that come from the basic techniques and skills found in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern dance styles. Students will explore learning improvisation, partnering and weight sharing exercises in addition to technique. This class emphasizes interpretation of music and lyrics while telling a story. Students will learn that movement has different qualities that can be complex, fluid or abstract. All students must be taking a Ballet class to enroll in a Contemporary or Lyrical class. Must also perform in both classes at end of the year recital.
